We offer a wide range of services to help keep your pet fit and healthy. Please note, consultations with our vets and nurses are by appointment only.
If you are a Towcester Veterinary Centre equine or farm client then you can pick up medications from our Weedon surgery. These still need to be approved by a vet first. You can read more about our equine and farm services on the main TVC website.
Our surgical facilities are equipped in much the same way as human surgical facilities are. We have a sterile operating theatre equipped with the latest equipment. We also have modern digital radiography equipment (for taking x rays) and dental equipment to keep your pet’s teeth in tip-top condition.
Our sister practice, Towcester Veterinary Centre, is one of the few practices that still provide an out of hours emergency service and we have at least one nurse on duty 24 hours a day. Our out of hours rota is staffed by our own vets, giving you the reassurance of high quality care.
The Weedon nurse team is on hand to offer advice and administer routine treatments. Most nurse consultations are free of charge and include administration of flea and worm treatments, behaviour advice and puppy and kitten care advice.
Population control is just one of the advantages to having your pet neutered. All neutering procedures are performed under a general anaesthetic.
Animals are admitted on the morning of their surgery and generally discharged in the afternoon after their procedure.
Vaccination protects your pet against life-threatening and unpleasant diseases such as distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus and kennel cough for which there are no cures.Your vet will advise you which conditions your pet needs to be vaccinated against and will administer the vaccination to protect them.
Parasites such as fleas and worms range from uncomfortable and unsightly to life-threatening. However, regular treatment with tablets or skin applications can prevent infestations. Our skilled team can advise you which parasites you need to protect your pet against as well as administer the treatment.
Our sister practice, Towcester Veterinary Centre, is an RCVS Tier 3 accredited practice and a member of the British Small Animal Hospitals Association. It offers a range of specialised services that we can offer in addition to our standard services.
These services include laparoscopy (keyhole surgery), minimally invasive surgery that uses a camera to look inside the abdominal cavity. We do this to explore the organs or perform a procedure such as biopsy or spaying. In human surgery it has become the gold standard, mainly due to the shorter post-operation recovery time.
